Norvig spelling corrector4/11/2023 To compress our n-gram model let’s use an approach described in Efficient Minimal Perfect Hash Language Models paper. For example, for following text of 5 words: “ a b c a b” we store following frequencies:Ī => 2 b => 2 c => 1 a b => 2 b c => 1 c a => 1 a b c => 1 b c a => 1 c a b => 1Īnother reason - high memory overhead of the hash table data structure (hash table is used inside python dict or c++ unordered_map). One reason of such a high memory usage is that we don’t store a plain text, instead we store frequencies. Half of that size is used by language model, and another half by the symspell index. Training n-gram model on 600 mb file leads to significant memory consumption (25 Gb). To get the best possible accuracy we need a big dataset (at least few gigabytes). However, model become really huge, and everything works so slow. Sentence probability can be calculated like this: def predict(self, sentence): result = 0 for i in range(0, len(sentence) - 2): p2 = self.getGram3Prob(sentence, sentence, sentence) p3 = self.getGram2Prob(sentence, sentence) p4 = self.getGram1Prob(sentence) result += math.log(p2) + math.log(p3) + math.log(p4) return resultĪnd n-gram probabilities like this: def getGram1Prob(self, wordID): wordCounts = (wordID, 0) + SimpleLangModel.K vocabSize = len(am1) return float(wordCounts) / (self.totalWords + vocabSize) def getGram2Prob(self, wordID1, wordID2): countsWord1 = (wordID1, 0) + self.totalWords countsBigram = ((wordID1, wordID2), 0) + SimpleLangModel.K return float(countsBigram) / countsWord1 def getGram3Prob(self, wordID1, wordID2, wordID3): countsGram2 = ((wordID1, wordID2), 0) + self.totalWords countsGram3 = ((wordID1, wordID2, wordID3), 0) + SimpleLangModel.K return float(countsGram3) / countsGram2 Now we can use our extended language model to estimate candidates with context. Let’s estimate probability of some fragment as a product of all n-grams of n-size: Let’s pre-calculate not only single words, but word and a small context (3 nearest words). Adding some contextįirst improvement - adding n-gram language model (3-grams). The candidate word with highest frequency is taken as an answer. For each vocabulary word frequencies are pre-calculated, based on some big text collections. We repeat this procedure for every word for a second time to get candidates with bigger edit distance (for cases with two errors).Įach candidate is estimated with unigram language model. for word abc possible candidates will be: ab ac bc bac cba acb a_bc ab_c aabc abbc acbc adbc aebc etc.Įvery word is added to a candidate list. Let’s take a word and brute force all possible edits, such as delete, insert, transpose, replace and split. Peter Norvig (director of research at Google) described the following approach to spelling correction. Let start with a Norvig’s spelling corrector and iteratively increase its capabilities. We need an automatic spelling corrector which can fix words with typos and, at the same time not break correct spellings. As painful as it may be, data should be cleaned before fitting. As the result, we are unable to reach the best score. In real-world NLP problems we often meet texts with a lot of typos. Even with having to kick off two processes in order to run the levenshtein algorith and read in an ASCII dictionary, I could still get results in a tenth of a second, on a machine that's now ten years old.Dirty data leads to bad model quality. (I've done the Levenshtein distance thing, too, for a demo. The best way to do that is never depend on any data from the internet :-) It can do a linear and non-optimized scan the entire Unicode character tables in the blink of a eye, even on slow devices.įor the app (not server) world, once you hit blink-of-an-eye, you're done. Similarly, I've got a unicode table lookup in my calculator program. Even on slow machines, it easily keeps up with the user's keystrokes. When a word being typed isn't found, I do a "LIKE" type of SQL search with no particular optimization. I wrote a simple offline dictionary program for Windows Phone using Wiktionary (about 400K words) as the source of correctness the actual data is just in a SQL database. Programmers constantly underestimate just how freaking fast modern processors are.

Hurtworld v2 large ore deposits image4/11/2023 Vale’s iron ore production for 2013 at Carajas was 104.88 million metric tonnes, a decline of 1.8% from 2012. It also uses a deepwater port near the city of Sao Luis, in the north-east state of Maranhao, with a handling capacity of vessels of up to 280,000dwt, and a single-track 1.6m gauge railway line of approximately 890km interconnecting the mine and port. The operation uses an open-pit mining complex with an initial capacity of 35Mtpa, which is soon to be extended. The Carajás District contains 7.2 billion metric tonnes of proven and probable reserves as of 2009 estimates. The current production contains < 1% Al2O3, < 1% SiO2, < 0.03% P2O5 and < 0.3Mn, with 10% lump and 90% fines. East Ridge has 400Mt 65.9% Fe, while the South Felix Ridge has 600Mt 62.8% Fe. The other reserves include South Range, 35km to the south – 10,400Mt 66.3% Fe. The reserves are distributed in a number of deposit groups, with the largest being the North Range with 6,200Mt 65.8% Fe, 0.038% P, 1.0% SiO2, 1.05% Al2O3, 0.45% Mn, 0.01% S, 0.02% KO, 0.03% Na2O and 1.88% LOI. The Carajás District contains known reserves of the order of 18 billion tonnes with an average grade of 65.4% Fe. Hematite rich, but harder and more siliceous pods occur within the soft hematite, but also as a transition to the unenriched BIF at depth. The upper 80% of the reserve comprises a soft, friable enriched limonite near surface passing down into hematite to a vertical depth of around 300m. The volcanic sequence has been weathered to a depth of between 100m and 150m while oxidation is observed to a depth of up to 500m in the BIFs of the ore zone. The Carajás ores are found within Archaean iron formations. The licence supported the production plan for 20 at the mining complex. The company obtained the operating licence for the expansion of its N4WS mine pit at Cajaras in November 2014. The project was completed in the first half of 2010 and increased the capacity of the iron ore beneficiation plant by 10Mtpa. To compensate for the delay in the completion of Carajas 130 project, another 10Mtpa brownfield project was constructed in the northern range of Carajas. Originally scheduled for completion in the second half of 2009, the project was postponed. Significant investments in logistics were also made. The project was to include the construction of a new plant, including primary crushing, processing and classification units. In 2009, $798m was diverted towards the project. The $2.48bn project, Carajas 130, would add 30Mtpa to the current capacity of 100Mtpa. In 2007, Vale approved an expansion project of the Carajas mine. Vale produced 237.9Mt of iron ore at the Carajas Mine for 2009, against 301.7Mt in 2008.īrazil is currently the world’s largest exporter of iron ore with an annual production of more than 510Mt. US Steel subsequently withdrew from the joint venture in 1977 by selling its share to Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) for $55m. In 1970, the Brazilian Government opted instead to create a joint venture company, Amazonias Mineração (AMZA), which 51% was owned by Vale and US Steel had 49%. US Steel initially wanted to develop the Carajás iron deposit alone, but the Brazilian Government was unwilling to hand control over to a foreign company. Carajás iron deposit and mine development ABB was awarded a $103m contract in September 2014 to install electrical and automation systems to help move rock and ore around the mine site more efficiently and safely using the truckless system. The mine implements a complete truckless transport operation and other automation systems in order to reduce emissions and fuel costs. Introducing the Excellence Awards & Rankings 2022. Pathological fear of the swamp4/10/2023 Of Redon's anatomical hybrids, his original biographer André Mellerio would note, "It was at the museum that he grasped Cuvier's great law regarding the correspondence of being." 3 Despite the scientist's formidable legacy, the great debate over evolutionary theory had overtaken the museum's staff by the mid-seventies. While Cuvier upheld the theory of successive deluges and believed in the separation and fixity of species, his classifications demonstrated the relationship of skeletal structures through time as well as a principle of correlation of parts to the whole that established the unity and harmony of a single animal. Cuvier was the first to systematically reconstruct fossil vertebrates and founded the field of vertebrate paleontology at the end of the eighteenth century. 2 The Museum of Natural History had long been entrenched in the reputation of the anti-evolutionist Georges Cuvier whose hall of comparative anatomy remained largely untouched when Redon was frequenting it. He noted the importance of time spent at the Faculty of Medicine in Paris and the lectures on osteology he attended there, as well as his investigations into comparative anatomy at the Museum of Natural History, an institution that sponsored a range of public courses in the natural sciences. Redon's hybrid forms, which he fondly referred to as his "monsters" emerged out of the debate around evolutionary theory.ĭuring the mid-1870s, Redon took advantage of the many free lectures offered to the public by scientific institutions. The community was further fragmented, of course, between supporters and opponents of evolution. Yet the scientific community was divided between diverging models of evolution: while many remained devoted followers of the earlier theories of French scientist Jean-Baptiste Lamarck, others supported the more recent writings of Darwin. "Evolution" and all that it suggested about man's place in the natural scheme of things was the unifying concept under which new research was undertaken: man's biological past, the origins of his thought, and the adaptive purposes behind his skeletal and nervous system were all analyzed under the authority of evolutionary theory. The study of the material aspects of man's nature emerged as one of the principal focuses of scientific investigation of the post-war period. By the 1880s, when many of Redon's biological noirs were produced, Paris was credited with being the most active center of biology in the world. Redon's interest in evolution and degeneration developed against the backdrop of the anti-clerical early Third Republic, which promoted progressive science as the way out for a defeated nation. This powerful, circulating discourse played on national anxieties in a country that had recently lost the Franco-Prussian War only to face the bloody internal conflict of the Commune which followed. The macabre universe he evokes in his early works is also related to a dark philosophical specter that emerged in the shadow of evolutionary theory, the possibility of decline or degeneration. In order to better understand his hybrid imagery, the complex scientific climate of late nineteenth-century France needs to be elaborated, and the various strands of evolutionism untangled. 1 While Redon's primary influence came from Darwin, there are several strains of evolutionism and related biological theories referred to in his work. 1) His lithographic series Origins, 1883, deals explicitly with evolutionary theory, exploring the theme of man's development from single cells and an embryological fish-animal-humanoid form which skims the ocean floor in the first print to a lumbering human figure in the final print. Odilon Redon's graphic work of the last quarter of the nineteenth century includes many examples of mutating or hybrid forms that are informed by transformisme: fish-men, plants with human faces, and ape-men among them. These two rules help you manage messages when you have two separate accounts configured in Outlook. If you have an email selected, the first two options let you quickly set rules to move messages sent by the sender to a folder or move messages sent to the email account to another folder. In the "Move" category, you'll see a button named "Rules."Ĭlick the button and you see several options. The "Rules" feature is in the "Home" tab. This out-of-office message will be sent for any email senders (outside or inside the organization), so the message you choose should cover any sender including coworkers, customers or vendors. We'll cover more rule features in chapter 13, but this section focuses on one rule option that sends a message each time you receive a message. Creating an Out-of-Office Message for Other Email ServicesĪlthough there isn't a native feature in Outlook for out-of-office messages using other email services than Exchange, you can use Outlook's "Rules" feature to create them. Interested in learning more? Why not take an online Outlook 2019 course?Īfter this template is created, you can now set up an out-of-office message rule. You can create an OFT file for any message template, which will save you time when you must send the same message frequently to different recipients. Remember the location of where you save the template file, because you'll need this file when you set up your out-of-message rule. Choose "Outlook Template (*.oft)" option and type a name for your template such as "Out of Office." At the bottom of this dialog box is the "Save as type" dropdown. Click "Save As" in the left panel, and a new dialog box opens. In the window that opens, type your message as if you're just typing a new email message for a recipient.Ĭlick the "File" tab, and you open the "Account Information" page. An Outlook template is just a saved file from Outlook. Creating a Templateīefore you can use an out-of-office message with Outlook rules, you must create a template. Click "OK" and your out-of-office message is set. Notice that you can specify a message for people within the organization, and then you can set a different message for emails received from outside of your organization. In the first window displayed, click "Send Automatic Replies." Specify a date and time for the messages to start being sent, and then a date and time for them to stop. If you have Exchange configured for an account, you'll find an "Automatic Replies" button that lets you configure an out-of-office message.Ĭlick the button and a configuration window displays. This is because configurations are set on the server, but you can still send an out-of-office message. If you're using an employer email account, then you might not be able to change settings for the Exchange server account. If you have an Exchange server configured, then this dropdown would show "Exchange" below your email address. In the image above, you can see that the account type is IMAP/SMTP because a Gmail email server has been configured with Outlook. You can find out if you have an Exchange account by clicking the "File" tab and then clicking "Info" in the left side panel. If you're an employee at an office that hosts its own email server and the organization uses Microsoft software, you might have an Exchange server as your email service. You can set up an Exchange server if you use Microsoft services such as Azure. Microsoft Exchange is an email server application available in network environments that use mainly the Microsoft operating system. We'll set up a non-Exchange message in the next section, but this section covers Exchange users. Native out-of-office messages using Outlook are only available to Microsoft Exchange users, but you can work with a non-Exchange account using rules. Outlook has a feature that lets you set these messages, which will be sent each time you receive a message in your inbox. The alternative is to create an out-of-office message that lets people know you're away. Email never sleeps, so when you come back you could come back to dozens of senders angry that you never responded. You can't always be at your computer all day and night, and sometimes you leave for days either for vacation or because you're sick. After all, Cricut have always tried to make their software a walled garden. A crafter who buys a Cricut from a bricks-and-mortar warehouse store and uses it with Cricut cartridges may not balk at being required to pay rent to use hardware that’s already paid for in the same way a member of our community with a 3D printer would. We’d like to think that given the reaction from their online community the subscription plan will backfire, but unlike the world of 3D printing their market is not necessarily an online-savvy one. Members with a paid Cricut Access plan will have unlimited uploads. Every calendar month, these members will be allowed to upload up to 20 personal images and/or patterns. Worse still, a screenshot is circulating online purporting to be from a communication with a Cricut employee attempting to clarify matters, in which it is suggested that machines sold as second-hand will be bricked by the company.Īlso, soon we will be making changes that affect members who use the free Design Space app without a Cricut Access plan. Probably the best known brand of cutter comes from Cricut, and that company has dropped a bombshell in the form of an update to the web-based design software that leaves their now very annoyed users with a monthly upload limit of 20 new designs unless they sign up for a Cricut Access Plan that costs $9.99 on monthly payments. Crafters were using CNC cutting machines well before we were, and while some may deride them when used for sparkly greeting cards sold on Etsy, they can be an extremely useful tool for much more than that. But there’s another set of people who were way ahead of us, and they’re a rather unexpected one, too. In our community we like to think of ourselves as pioneers in the field of domestic CNC machinery, with our cheap 3D printers. UPDATE #2 (3/21/21): In the wake of this controversy, Cricut have announced that they will not move forward with the upload limit for customers who are not paying subscribers. They clarified that machines are not deactivated upon resale, but the new owner will need to set up their own online account. UPDATE: Hackaday was contacted by a PR company claiming to represent Cricut. (Nightingale also had to be convinced to take a royalty rather than a onetime $45 session fee.)Īfter being released on United Artists Records (in Nightingale's true name), "Right Back Where We Started From" reached #8 in the UK in the autumn of 1975. She recorded "Right Back Where We Started From" with the understanding it would be issued under a pseudonym. Her vocalizing on the recording of Al Matthews' "Fool" caught the attention of the session's producer Pierre Tubbs, enough that he asked composer J. According to Nightingale, "I started doing session singing. In Germany, Nightingale continued her stage musical career in Hair (as Sheila), Jesus Christ Superstar and Godspell, and she began a relationship with Minoru Terada Domberger, the director of the German production of Hair, which led to marriage and a daughter, Langka Veva Domberger, born in 1973.Nightingale returned to London with her husband and daughter and appeared in the West End production of Savages, after which she withdrew from professional performing. In 1969 Nightingale began a tenure of roughly a year and a half in the West End production of Hair playing a supporting role and understudying the female lead role of Sheila: Nightingale then relocated to Germany, having formed a relationship with an actor from the German production of Hair whom she had met when he visited the West End production. Despite being overseen by label a&r head Cyril Stapleton, Nightingale's three Pye single releases - issued in June and July 1969 and 26 March 1971 - went unnoticed. When Nightingale was aged thirteen she and a friend visited a neighbourhood house where a band called Unisound was rehearsing: Nightingale was asked to sing with the band and resultantly became a member performing extensively on the British cabaret circuit: the manager of a club where Unisound performed arranged for Nightingale to cut a demo which he shopped to Pye Records for whom Nightingale made her first recordings.
